I must confess that I’ve been guilty of something for quite a while. As a mother of a 6 year old I have hundreds of photos of her in photo albums from 5 and 6 years ago when she was a baby. When we had baby girl number two, we upgraded from our film camera to a digital camera. We were so excited about the countless possibilities for photos and the ease of taking and storing them all digitally. Well, now 3 years later, we have 1/2 of an album filled with photos from her babyhood. We have thousands and thousands of photos on cds, dvd, external hard drives ect, but very few printed out.
She asks to see pictures of herself as a baby and we scramble to find where they are stored on one of the computers. Wouldn’t it be so much easier to just pull an album off of the bookshelf and flip through pages together? Yes! That is why I’m writing this entry. Don’t be like me, print your photos! I am working on that, myself. I have issues with photos needing to be “perfect” before I print them, but for the sake of my children, I’m trying to let go and just enjoy taking snapshots of their childhood. My mother has commented on more than one occasion that she sees so many cameras everywhere and so few photos.
